IKAI Natural Thekra Tenga
About the Product:- This Natural Thekera Tenga is one of the most potent natural antioxidants in the world. What Kokum is to India's western coast, Tenga is to the country's eastern states. It is delightfully sour in taste and can add a refreshing twist to all your cooking. Native to Assam and Meghalaya, Thekera Tenga is a kin of the purple mangosteen.
- Why eat it?
- Thekera Tenga is a high-value medicinal fruit that is mildly anti-allergenic and helps prevent cardiovascular problems. It is also used as a cooling agent for digestive disorders like dysentery, gas and bloating. It is rich in antioxidants and also helps regulate your metabolism. As they say, all good things come in small packages!
- Cooking tips:
- It is not essential to rehydrate the fruit before cooking as the whole fruit can be eaten. In the Assamese cuisines, some fish preparations use just the soaked watery pulp after straining the fruit. The water of the soaked fruit also makes a refreshing summer drink.
